What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid and a biocompatible aqueous gel used to correct deep wrinkles and creases by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production process. Sculptra® achieves subtle, natural looking results over time as the body replaces collagen that has been lost. Sculptra® stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis to produce natural collagen and this increases facial volume. The deeper the wrinkle or defect, the more Sculptra® is required. Once the fibroblasts have been stimulated, they will continue to produce collagen for up to two years.

What to Expect During a Sculptra® Treatment?

Typically, a full Sculptra® treatment takes about three different sessions of injections, each taking no more than 30 minutes to an hour. Before each session, the targeted area is anesthetized to reduce discomfort, followed by a series of injections directly into the targeted area with very fine needles.

When will I see the results of Sculptra® treatment?

Patients typically see results within one month of each session as the gel lifts and supports the skin until it is replaced with the body’s renewed collagen. Full results will be seen shortly after the series is completed.

How many sessions of Sculptra® will I need?

It is a bio-stimulating product, which means that it slowly gives change over time by stimulating your own collagen production. Multiple injections may be required. Once the desired affect is achieved, the results can last up to two years. No skin test is required.
